AGENDA
  1. Apologies for absence: To receive and accept apologies for absence.
  • Declarations of interest: To receive and record declarations of interest.
  • Minutes of the Previous Meeting of the Council: To receive and adopt the minutes of the 27 March 2025 Council Meeting.
  • Adjournment for Questions from the Public: To consider adjourning the meeting to receive questions from members of the public in accordance with Standing Orders.

6.        Committee Minutes: To receive and where appropriate, consider the recommendations of the:

  • Sustainability Strategy Working Group (24 February 2025): The recommendation is for Council to agree and adopt the Strategy Action Plan.
    • Planning Committee (31 March 2025): There were no recommendations for Council. 
    • Community Engagement Committee (3 April 2025): There were no recommendations for Council. 
    • Finance, Governance & Estates Committee (10 April 2025) There were no recommendations for Council.

7.        Planning Committee Membership: To consider adding the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council to the membership of the Planning Committee.

8.        Danworth Lane Traffic Regulation Order:  To consider supporting residents in their request for Danworth Lane to be classified as a quiet lane by West Sussex County Council.

9.        Willow Way Streetlights:  To consider a quote for repairs to ten streetlights in Willow Way, nine of which were vandalised in January 2025, at a cost of £10,666.87+VAT and to seek an insurance claim.

10.      St Lawrence Fair:  To consider an application for the use of the South Avenue Recreation Ground for the St Lawrence Fair 2025.

11.      Reports from Representatives on Outside Bodies: To receive reports from representative on outside bodies.

12.      To note any information items, correspondence received or requests.

Members are asked to RESOLVE that in view of the confidential nature of the following items, the press and public be excluded under section 1(2) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.

Confidential Matters:

  1. Hurstpierpoint Lawn Tennis Club:  To receive a confidential briefing note regarding the renewal of the Lease which expires on 31 December 2025.

Protocol for filming and recording at public meetings:  The Council has a protocol for public filming, recording and photography at its meetings, which is available on the Council’s website or on request at the Parish Office.
