Highways England will shortly be carrying out works to remove non-compliant signs and replace them with new signs complying with current sign regulations along the A23.
We will carry out this work from Tuesday 2 March 2021 to Thursday 4 March 2021, returning for one night on Thursday 11 March 2021. To minimise disruption to our customers, we’ll work overnight from 8pm to 6am when there are fewer vehicles on the road.
For the safety of our workforce and customers, the works will be carried out under layby and lane closures. A full closure of the northbound exit slip road to Pyecombe will be required on the night of Wednesday 3 March 2021.
During the northbound exit slip road closure, vehicles wishing to leave the A23 for Pyecombe will continue northbound the A23 to leave at the next junction, A281 Dale Hill Road. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit crossing over the A23 to re-join the main carriageway southbound. Take the 1st exit to join the A273 to Pyecombe.
Safe pedestrian access will always be maintained throughout the works.
