Members are summoned to attend the Community Engagement Committee meeting to be held on Thursday 14th September 2023 at 7.30pm in the Conference room in the Village Centre. Members of the public have a right to and are invited to attend the meeting.

 AGENDA

1.         Apologies for Absence: To receive and accept apologies for absence.

2.        Declarations of interest: To receive and record any declarations of interest.

3.         Minutes of the Previous Meeting of the Community Engagement Committee: To receive and adopt the minutes of the 13th July 2023 Community Engagement Committee meeting.

4.         Adjournment for Questions from the Public: To consider adjourning the meeting to receive questions from members of the public in accordance with Standing Orders.

5.         Budget Monitoring: To review the budget monitoring report for the Committee including

a) The Nominal Ledger (year to Date)

b) Detailed Income & Expenditure at 31 August 2023.

             No new projects received.

7.         Review of Action Plan: To note and update Version 2 of the 2023/2024 Action Plan

8          Information Items, Correspondence Received and Requests:

8.1      Festive Lights: – to consider the briefing note regarding the increase in costs for the festive lighting.

RECOMMENDATION:

             1) The committee AGREE to use the Earmarked Reserve Fund towards the additional costs of the Festive Lighting.

8.2      High Street Update: To receive averbal update from Cllr Bedford and Cllr Ranger.

8.3      Defibrillator Training Update: To note the Village Centre Conference Room has been booked for the evening of Friday 6th October for this training to take place.  To be publicised via noticeboards, Facebook, our email contacts database, and in September’s Hurst Life article.  Would any Cllr be willing to attend and open and lock up the Village Centre/take part in the training?

8.4      Community Midwife Initiative – To receive a verbal update from Cllr Majsai about the community midwife initiative following the meeting on 6th September.

8.5      Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common Community Forum 2nd November: To receive a verbal update from Cllr Majsai.

8.6      External Communication: To receive a verbal update on communication. 

Protocol for filming and recording at public meetings:  The Council has a protocol for public filming, recording and photography at its meetings, which is available on the Council’s website or on request at the Parish Office.
