Members are summoned to attend the Community Engagement Committee meeting to be held at 7:30pm on Thursday 8 February 2024 in The Village Centre Conference Room, Hurstpierpoint. Members of the public have a right to and are invited to attend the meeting.

1.         Apologies for Absence: To receive and accept apologies for absence.

2.        Declarations of interest: To receive and record any declarations of interest.

3.         Minutes of the Previous Meeting of the Community Engagement Committee: To receive and adopt the minutes of the 9th November 2023 Community Engagement Committee meeting.

4.         Adjournment for Questions from the Public: To consider adjourning the meeting to receive questions from members of the public in accordance with Standing Orders.

5.         Review of Action Plan: To agree and update Version 4 of the 2023/2024 Action Plan.

b) Detailed Income & Expenditure at 31st January 2024.

7.4.     Health & Wellbeing Projects Budget 2023/2024 £1000 Budget remaining £965.60:

8.         Information Items, Correspondence Received and Requests:

8.1       Mid Sussex Applauds: To note update on Spring 2024 awards and consider nominations, the deadline for which is 18th February. Criteria can be found here:  

8.2      High Street Update: To receive averbal update from Cllr Bedford and Cllr Ranger.

8.3      Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common Community Forum 18th January:  To receive notes of, and verbal update from Cllr Majsai on, the Community Events Forum held on 18th January at Court Bushes Community Hub

8.4      Hurstpierpoint Wassailing: To receive a verbal update from Cllr Majsai on the Wassailing event held on 13th January. 

8.5       Grants Policy To note that Cllr Majsai and Assistant Clerk Viv Aloy met on 23.1.24 to discuss the Grants Policy, with a view to refreshing this for 2024/2025.  The aim is to create a more robust policy, supporting our new budget lines and sustainability strategy.   Timescales are to present the wording for the website, together with the revised Application form and Guidance for Applicants documents to the 11th April Community Engagement Committee Meeting, followed by the 25th April Full Council Meeting.

8.6      External Communication: To receive a verbal update on external communication, including response to the District Plan.

Protocol for filming and recording at public meetings:  The Council has a protocol for public filming, recording and photography at its meetings, which is available on the Council’s website or on request at the Parish Office.
