Members are summoned to attend the Meeting of the Council to be held on Thursday 27 June 2024 at 7.30pm in the Hurstpierpoint Village Centre.  Members of the public have a right to and are invited to attend the meeting.

  1. Apologies for absence: To receive and accept apologies for absence.
  • Declarations of interest: To receive and record declarations of interest.
  • Minutes of the Previous Meeting of the Council: To receive and adopt the minutes of the 23 May 2024 Annual Council Meeting.
  • Adjournment for Questions from the Public: To consider adjourning the meeting to receive questions from members of the public in accordance with Standing Orders.

6.         Committee Minutes: To receive and where appropriate, consider the recommendations of the:

6.1          Parish Strategy Working Group (17 May & 10 June 2024): There were no recommendations for Council.

6.2         Planning Committee (3 June 2024): There were no recommendations for Council. 

  • Community Engagement Committee (13 June 2024): There were no recommendations for Council.
  • Finance, Governance & Estates Committee (20 June 2024) There were no recommendations for Council.

7.         LGPS Pension Investment Strategy Statement:  To consider submitting any comments on the draft West Sussex County Council Pension Committee’s Investment Strategy Statement by 30 June 2024.

8.         Allocation of Section 106 Funds:  To consider how to respond to Mid Sussex District Council’s invitation to suggest projects for approx. £6,267 of Section 106 funds to be allocated to, if MSDC are minded to approve the planning application, for land to the rear of 147-149 College Lane (DM/24/1139).

9.         WSCC Licence for Planting Wild Flowers:  To consider a briefing note that recommends applying to West Sussex County Council for a Licence to plant wildflowers on the new Manor Road cycle way verge.

10.       The Council is asked to note any information items, correspondence received or requests.

10.1    Sustainability Strategy Action Plan: To note the Sustainability Strategy Action Plan.

Members are asked to RESOLVE that in view of the confidential nature of the following items, the press and public be excluded under section 1(2) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.

Confidential Matters:

11.       Sayers Common Village Association:  To consider a briefing note regarding the Sayers Common Village Association and to appoint a councillor to represent the Parish Council on the association.

Protocol for filming and recording at public meetings:  The Council has a protocol for public filming, recording and photography at its meetings, which is available on the Council’s website or on request at the Parish Office.
