Southern Water has advised the Parish Council that they are attending a burst rising main at the Gatehouse Lane Allotments in Goddards Green, that has emerged in the past week.
They have attended the site and isolated the burst and are mitigating the impact with any pollution being pumped away and taken from the site by tankers. Traffic management has been put in place at the junction between Malthouse Lane and Jane Murray Way to allow the tankers to operate safely.
Unfortunately, given the recent storm Bert forcing Southern Water to strategically place their resources due to multiple events of this type, they may not have the ability to fully repair this burst until next week. They are liaising with Burgess Hill Town Council regarding the Gatehouse Lane allotments and have been in contact with local residents who may be affected.
