Little Park Parkland: Scoping and progress report (8 January 2018)
BRIEFING NOTE Orchard 23 August 2017 )
RESOLVED: The Parkland Management Committee noted the progress report No 4, with the following comments:
- (1) Highfield Drive meadows: to review the consideration of creating an access point in the NE corner, adjoining the existing public right of way as previously mentioned under Minutes 19 October 2017 PA17/008
- (2) Highfield Drive meadows: to review the need of height restrictors at vehicular gates.
- (3) Apple Orchard. It was agreed that the siting of the apple orchard would be reassessed as an item at the next Parkland Advisory Group meeting.
- (4) It was agreed that another Clerk led walk around the Parkland would be arranged following his return from leave. This is now considered important as the preparation work on Little Park area is now proceeding and a review of priorities would be useful.
PA17/015. Marchants Road access: The Committee agreed to the appointment of a design engineer to prepare detail designs and specifications for the access ’boardwalk’, to enable presentations to be made to residents, planning application to be lodged and subsequent construction. At this stage no quotation is available, but an estimate would be in the range £3000 to £5000. (REF: Progress Report No 4 5 January 2018)
RESOLVED: A design engineering company would be found to develop a scheme for the ‘boardwalk’. Further discussion at the next Parkland Management Committee Meeting should take place before a contact is awarded.
PA17/016. Graphic Design of Hurst Meadows: The Committee agreed to the investigation of appointing a graphic designer to prepare sketches of Hurst Meadows, for the purposes of interpretation boards, website and other publicity. The Committee is asked to note the previous presentation of Hurstpierpoint High Street as an example of the type of work that might be produced. Detailed proposals and quotations would be brought to Committee for approval in due course. RESOLVED: Investigations are to be made into identifying a suitable graphic designer for Hurst Meadows.
There being no other business the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.35 pm Chairman
