It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Parish Councillor Peter Griffiths (1944-2021) who passed away on 15 November. For those who had the pleasure of spending time with Peter they will recall his diplomacy, intellect, integrity and good humour. He was a true gentleman and kind to all he met.
He was a very experienced public servant dedicating years of his life to council work both at County and Parish level. Peter was a former Arundel & South Downs Conservative Association Chairman and West Sussex County Councillor for Hurstpierpoint & Bolney Division. His long standing work as a parish councillor involved promoting many good causes for residents and most recently our Dementia Awareness project. This was a cause very close to his heart and the best memorial we can offer to him is to press on with this work and seek to make our community a better place, not only for people who live with Dementia, but also for the families who care for them.
Many people will have special memories of times that they have enjoyed with Peter over the years and he will be greatly missed by all. His family will be holding a private funeral but hope to hold a memorial service for him in the spring of 2022 for friends to attend.
