P18/38.2 28 High Street Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9RG (DM/18/3209): Change of Use from office space (B1a use class) to a 2-bedroom residential dwelling (C3 use class). RECOMMENDATION: Permission
P18/38.3 Naldretts Farm Pookbourne Lane Sayers Common Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9HD
(DM/18/1860): Change of use of grazing land to a polo pitch with associated works including the formation of a new lagoon, landscaping, and vehicular access via Northend Lane (Amended plans and information submitted on 2 August 2018). RECOMMENDATION: Refusal – concern over increased traffic to the site, contrary to the
Neighbourhood Plan Policy regarding Quiet Lanes. Restricted access makes the site totally unsuitable for the ‘world class events’ as stated in the application. Additional traffic during events via a narrow lane with no allowance for passing vehicles. In addition the safety aspect of HGV’s turning into/from Cuckfield Road at the junctions with Pomper Lane and Mill Lane.
P18/38.4 13 Wilderness Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9XD (DM/18/2302): Proposed sub-division of existing bungalow into 1no. 2 bed and 1no. 1 bed single storey semi-detached dwellings. Amended plans received 03.08.2018 showing revisions to proposed parking layout. RECOMMENDATION: Refusal – Un-sustainable, unneighbourly, over- looking and over development of the site, loss of amenity. The shared driveway would allow for access to 3 properties, which would have a detrimental effect on neighbouring properties. Not in keeping with the settlement pattern and harmful to the character of the road. Contrary to Neighbourhood Plan Policy Hurst H5: development principles and District Plan Policy DP26: Character and Design.
P18/38.5 3 Holly Mews High Street Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9PW (DM/18/3114):
Demolition of existing garage, outbuilding and dwelling to construct, in its place, a two storey dwelling almost identical to that approved under application DM/17/4622, whereby the existing building was to be adapted. Construction of boundary wall in brick to north, northwest and north east of site. RECOMMENDATION: Permission is granted subject to a sufficient Traffic Management Plan being put in place, with conditions that no construction traffic should be allowed to access the site during rush hours and must only enter and leave village via the East side.
P18/38.6 Land West Of Lodge Cottage South Avenue Hurstpierpoint West Sussex (DM/18/2698): Erection of a single dwelling with associated landscaping. RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted, subject to planning condition that an enforceable legal agreement be established between the District Council, the Parish Council, and the landowner, that the allotments remain in their current use in perpetuity. The foul water drainage through new tank and not into existing.
