MINUTES of the meeting of the Planning Committee on Thursday 17 January 2019 at 8.00 pm in the Village Centre, Trinity Road, Hurstpierpoint.

 P18/085.1 6.1 Land South Of A2300 Burgess Hill West Sussex. DM/18/4588. Application for approval of reserved matters of landscape, appearance, layout and scale pursuant to outline permission 13/01618/OUT for the erection of 1 industrial unit of 5,229 sq m (GIA) for B1c, B2 and B8 employment uses with gatehouse, ancillary office, car parking, service yard areas, landscaping and enabling works. (Amended description to reflect the correct floorspace and updated documents received 17th December). 

    Recommendation: Permission as long as in accordance with master plan. Further evergreen trees planted to enable screening.

BN6 9RG. DM/18/4998. Conversion of existing ground floor retail (A1) unit to residential flat (C3), and modifications and extension to existing first floor flat. Demolition of existing lean-to, to the rear elevation, and construction of a two-storey extension to the rear elevation. Formation of a hardstanding area at the rear to allow parking for 1no. car. 

      Recommendation: Refusal, on the basis of design as in conservation area – DP35

DM/18/5051. Demolition of existing single storey and two storey elements. Construction of single storey, two storey and three storey extensions to the side elevation with internal alterations and associated minor hard and soft landscaping works. 

  Recommendation: Refusal – DP26 Character & Design 

      Un-neighbourly – loss of sunlight, loss of amenity

demolition of single storey rear extension and replace with a two storey extension with increased ridge height, dormers, roof lights and raised decking.

  2. (f) Danworth Farm Cuckfield Road Hurstpierpoint West Sussex BN6 9GL. DM/18/4324. Variation of Condition 12 of planning permission DM/18/2249 – to vary the approved plans listed on decision DM/17/3777 to allow for elevational changes. 
  3. (g) 20 Cuckfield Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9SA. DM/18/4757. T1 Apple Tree – reduce crown by 0.75m. T2 Cherry Tree – reduce crown by 1.5m. T3 Silver Birch – reduce stem closest to the fence by 1m. 
  1. h) 93A High Street Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9RE. DM/18/4665. T1 Willow – Thin crown by 30% and reduce spread towards the house. 
  2. i) 10 Brown Twins Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9XT. DM/18/3900. Proposed infill extension to existing house to create a family room, the erection of detached single storey garage and home studio building and a 7m x 5m unenclosed swimming pool. Amended plans and Arboricultural Impact Assessment received 23.11.2018 showing removal of swimming pool and re-siting of garage / office building further back within site.
