MINUTES of the meeting of the Planning Committee on Tuesday 30 April 2019 at 7.00 pm in the Village Centre, Trinity Road, Hurstpierpoint.

P18/108 Minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 11 April 2019:    The minutes were received and accepted by the Committee and signed by the Chairman.  

RESOLVED:  The Minutes of the meeting of 11 April 2019 are adopted. 

P18/109 Matters arising from the Meeting of the Planning Committee held on 11 April 2019:  There were no matters arising.  

P18/110 Adjournment for questions from the public: The Committee agreed to adjourn the meeting in accordance with Clause 1(d) of Standing Orders to allow members of the public to speak.  It was agreed that the public would speak when the item was discussed. The meeting then resumed. 

P18/111 Planning applications delegated to Committee Chairman and Vice-Chairman in accordance with Minute P17/048:  (The decisions of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman are reported to the meeting.)  

P18/111.1 18 The Grange Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9FD. DM/19/1322. Replace rear flat roof dormer with two pitched dormers 

  RECOMMENDATION: Permission is granted  

P18/111.2 2 Pakyns Court Albourne Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9ET. T1 Cherry- remove damaged stem, reduce overhang to drive by 1.5 metres. T2, T3 – Sycamore – reduce overhang to drive by 1.5 metres. 

  RECOMMENDATION: Permission is granted  

P18/112 Planning applications – Committee decision:  The Committee was asked consider the following and make RECOMMENDATIONS to the Planning Authority: 

 P18/112.1 Cornercroft Halton Shaws Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9QR. DM/19/1205. Loft conversion with south facing window and west facing Velux window. 

  RECOMMENDATION:  Permission is granted  

  P18/112.2 Washbrook View Church Fields Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9TU. 

DM/19/1458. Demolition of two timber sheds; new garden wall and gate; change driveway surface from asphalt to gravel; replacement windows and external finish to roof dormers. 

    RECOMMENDATION: Permission is granted    

  P18/112.3 61 – 63 High Street 1st And 2nd Floor Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9RE. 

DM/19/1405. Application for determination as to whether prior approval is required for a Change of Use of First and Second Floors (63 High Street) of 61-63 High Street from Office Space (B1 Use Class) to 1x 2- Bedroom residential dwelling (C3 Use Class). 

      RECOMMENDATION: No comment

P18/113.2 Refused: The Committee noted refusals by MSDC:  

a) South Lodge South Avenue Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9QB. DM/19/0408. Remove 7 no. Ash trees of between 20-30m height, 3 Oak trees – reduce crown by no more than 4 metres and 3 Field Maples – reduce crown and height by no more than 3 metres. 

P18/113.3 Withdrawn: The Committee noted withdrawn applications: 

a) 10 Brown Twins Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9XT. DM/19/0402. Proposed two storey extension including formation of a Juliet balcony at first floor level to existing West elevation serving existing master bedroom, to match existing Juliet balcony on North elevation
