7.Naldretts Farm Pookbourne Lane Sayers Common Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9HD. DM/21/0311. Removal of existing Atcost style agricultural buildings and replace with a new agricultural and equestrian facility, ancillary to the new replacement dwelling at Naldretts Farm 

7.8 White Oaks London Road Sayers Common Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9HT. DM/21/0283. Proposed outbuilding with a pitched roof, comprising home gym, office and shower room. 

7.9 Bridgers Farm Langton Lane Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9HA. DM/20/3882. Change of use from agriculture buildings to form flexible commercial use and associated external alterations to the buildings. Amended plans received 28/01/2021 revising red edged area of application site removing buildings 1 and 2 from the proposal, and the stable doors to building 4 to remain.

7.15 Oak Tree St Georges Lane Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9QU. DM/20/4625. Two storey side extension with associated internal alterations and reinstating integral garage and a new front porch. (Description updated 18.01.2021) (Revised plans received 23.02.2021) 

7.16 Pitfield Barn Cut Flower Farm And Studio Pitfield Barn Chalkers Lane Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9LR. DM/21/0529. Use of barn as permitted under application DM/17/3619 – mixed agricultural and E use building to enable a flower workshop area, storage of materials associated with the flower growing enterprise, office and erection of a poly tunnel, together with the holding of educational workshops, cafe and flower sales ancillary to the permitted use of the barn and flower farm.

7.18 Geniefa Cuckfield Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9LL. DM/21/0647. Proposed roof extension over existing double garage and over part of existing first floor rooms, proposed plant room, and garden store, with lean-to pitch roof over. Proposed new solar panels to new roof extension south roof slope (permission for existing solar panels on existing south and east roof slopes, installed in 2015). 

7.19 49 Hassocks Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9QL. DM/21/0557. Raising the roof line of the existing lower roof structure. Demolish existing side orangery, erection of a single storey side extension, erection of a single storey rear extension. Reinstate window above the front door and re-organise part of the fenestration.

8.1. Granted: to note permissions granted by MSDC:  

a) Arnolds Cottage, New Way Lane, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9BB. SDNP/20/04871/HOUS. Proposed new swimming pool in courtyard. New plant room and shower in existing stables. New Indian Sandstone paving, regrading existing bank and new air source heat pump. Permission granted by SDNP Planning Authority.  

b) Hautboyes New Way Lane Hurstpierpoint BN6 9BD. SDNP/20/05320/FUL. Tractor shed as an extension to existing building, Permission granted by SDNP Planning Authority. 

c) 136 Cuckfield Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9SD. DM/20/4517. Proposed rear first floor extension over existing ground floor extension. The first floor is proposed to have a flat rof with a pitched roof border. 

d) Naldretts Farm Mill Lane Sayers Common West Sussex BN6 9HL. DM/20/4720. This scheme includes alterations to the high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) overhead lines at Naldretts, including the removal of HV poles 616594, 633620 and 633621. 

e) Lodge Cottage South Avenue Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9QB. DM/20/4547. Removal of existing garage and erection of a new garage with pitched roof 

f) White Oaks London Road Sayers Common Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9HT. DM/20/4717. Outbuilding comprising home gym, office and shower room. 

g) St Lawrence Church Of England School Trinity Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9UY. DM/20/4515. New trim trail to school playing field, comprising 1500mm wide black tarmac surface path with treated timber edging. 

h) 15 Trinity Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9UY. DM/20/4700. Rear single storey flat roof extension. 

i) 135 Western Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9SZ. DM/20/4613. Single storey rear infill extension. 

j) The Old Flower Field Brighton Road Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9EF. DM/20/4636. Variation of condition number 5 relating to planning application DM/20/3340 to allow the cabins to be occupied from the 1st February until the 24th December. 

k) Kingsland Laines Reeds Lane Sayers Common Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9JG. DM/20/2937. Full planning application to revise the approved permission (DM/19/1148) to provide for 13 additional dwellings including 30% affordable units with associated landscaping, road layout, access and parking. (HPP&SC PC recommended refusal)

b) The Old Barn Southbrooks Farm Danworth Lane Hurstpierpoint Hassocks West Sussex BN6 9LW. AP/20/0062. Demolition of existing buildings and erection of a two bedroom dwelling house. Decision – Appeal dismissed 

The role of the Planning Committee in planning decisions: 

  1. The Planning Authority is Mid Sussex District Council or South Downs National Park Authority who have the final decision on whether planning permissions are granted or refused. 
  1. The Parish Council is a Statutory Consultee, which means that MSDC or SDNPA must ask for its opinion and take it into account, but not necessarily follow its recommendation.  (The Planning Authority can grant permission against the wishes of the Parish Council.)   
  1. The Parish Council has delegated its decision-making to the Planning Committee, which is authorised to express the Council’s view. / 
  1. The Committee should take account of local planning policies, as detailed in the MSDC Local Plan (2004), Neighbourhood Plan PARISH 2031 and the Mid Sussex Design Guide 2020.  It can also take guidance from the Parish Council’s Design Statement.   
  1. Members of the public attending Committee meetings are given the opportunity to speak on matters on the agenda but should follow the procedures set down in the Council’s Standing Orders.
