Hurstpierpoint Pre-School

Thank you so much for the £500 grant towards the purchase if some very much needed new bikes and scooters for the pre-school.  Larger equipment such as this cannot be covered by our usual fundraising activities, and it was so important to be able to replace several bikes at one time.

Riding bikes and scooters is good for the children’s physical development, enabling children to do activities outside in our all year round area. Access to this sort of provision is even more important for those who do not have a garden at home.

Hurstfolk 

We are incredibly grateful to Hurstpierpoint & Sayers Common Parish Council for their support in funding the PA system for our Youth Band Showcase at HURSTfolk 2024. This grant enabled us to provide a professional-standard sound setup, top-level production crew, and lighting equipment, creating a high-quality performance environment for young, up-and-coming musicians. The showcase was a key part of our festival’s commitment to supporting emerging talent, giving performers valuable live experience with industry-standard production. Thanks to this funding, we were also able to keep the event free entry, ensuring accessibility for the whole community. The grant directly contributed to nurturing a vibrant local music scene, providing an inclusive cultural event, and encouraging youth participation in the arts. We sincerely appreciate the Parish Council’s support in making this event a success and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.

Hurst Colts

A grant of £500 was awarded to Hurst Colts to provide equipment for their new under 5s and 6s boys/girls and mixed teams.  The teams are expected to have an average of 20-30 players so potentially supporting between 80 ad 120 children in total.

Equipment included training balls, cones and bibs.  Here are some of the new team with their new kit, we hope they enjoy it!

MSOPC – Sayers Common Tea Parties

A grant of £500 was awarded to Mid Sussex Older Persons Council (MSOPC) to fund two free afternoon teas for the over 60s in Sayers Common.  

The first event ran in July 2024, with a second “heart” themed event  for Valentine’s Day 2025, which included input from HART (Henfield Area Response Team) first aiders.
