The large old willow trees in the South Avenue Cemetery will receive some maintenance work on 17 and 18 June. We apologise for any disruption to this normally peaceful and quiet haven.

On Thursday 17 June, the Parish Council will be strimming the broad leaved docks in the field known as Fifteen Acre in Hurst Meadows, ahead of the Hurst College Community action day on the 18 June. An Ecologist will be on site to insure the nesting skylarks are not disturbed by the activity. The students will be helping with vital volunteering work across the Meadows and the Parish Council would like to thank all the volunteers who give their time to deliver services and support people and animals across the parish. Volunteers’ Week recently ran from 1-7 June, and is an annual event that says thank you to volunteers who give their spare time to help others.

On 27 May, the Parish Council elected its Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Council for the next year and allocated Councillors to, and Chairs of, the Committees that support the Parish Council. These are Community Engagement, Planning & Environment, Estates & Facilities Management and Finance & Governance. Agendas and minutes for all these meeting can be found on our website www.hurstpierpoint-pc.gov.uk
