The Parish Council will be carrying out some tree work around the parish in May and June following one of our regular tree surveys.  The work will mainly be carried out in Hurst Meadows, St George’s Green and the ancient woodlands but also includes two trees at the Allotments and Village Garden.   Due to the time of year the tree surgeons will carry out a full inspection of all the trees before work starts, to ensure no birds, bats or other species are disturbed.  Any works will be postponed if needed.  The works mainly consist of dead wood removal but some trees will need to be felled.  Where this is required the trees will be reduced to a safe height and left as a ‘monolith’ to provide habitats for wildlife and all logs and arisings will be left on site in habitat piles.
