As part of the Hurstpierpoint Cycle Scheme improvements WSCC will shortly be commencing carriageway surfacing works at Pooh Corner from outside Bee Cottage around the corner towards the access to Russells Farmhouse/Dragons. These works comprise the planing and resurfacing of the carriageway.

The works at this location are due to commence on the 14th August for up to 2 nights. For this location, the hours of work will be between 8.00pm and 6.00am.

Please note that in order to protect the workforce and the public:

• A road closure will in place to allow safe working areas and to facilitate the planing of the existing carriageway surface plus the laying of new tarmac surfacing.
• No diversion route will be in operation, due to a single route of access.
• WSCC shall endeavour to ensure that access to your property is maintained wherever possible.
• However, as with any improvement project, you may incur short periods of delay or minor obstruction to your normal arrangements. If this occurs, please speak with the site foreman who will be happy to help.
• Pedestrian routes will be maintained, but there may be slight periods of delay to establish safe passage through the works area.
• There may be short periods of time where traffic will be held to allow plant to manoeuvre or be loaded. This will be kept to a minimum and will be marshalled by a site operative.

Please note that these works are weather dependant and may be cancelled at short notice, but WSCC will endeavour to inform you should there be significant changes to the programme.
